Drupal Open University Initiative - Status and vision
The Drupal Open University Initiative is a community-driven effort to introduce Drupal education into universities and classrooms while fostering a new generation of Drupal developers. It focuses on open-source collaboration, modular learning paths, and hands-on training to make Drupal more accessible to students, educators, and companies.
This initiative emerged from the realization that Drupal needs more new talent and that education is a missing link in the ecosystem. The inspiration came from existing academic Drupal courses, like my 3-week deep dive course at Reykjavik University, and the potential to open-source and scale these materials for broader use.
In the talk I will go over how it all began, how we are working on it right now (and would like to have more people join us) and how our vision is for the future.
